Welcome to Indonesia. That's the first thing that we heard when we are about to go down tarmac of Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia.

The moment we stepped down the tarmac, I felt the different hormones in my body messing up my feeling. There's no single word that could describe the feeling that I felt when I stepped on the land of Indonesia.

As a first time traveler outside of the Philippines, I was quite nervous because I do not know what will happen to me. The level of uncertainty is high, and anything could happen in my stay here in Indonesia, especially that I am a foreigner, and a novice in traveling.

For the first hours of my stay here in Indonesia, I am accompanied by my schoolmates who also are participants of the SEA Teacher Program. We were all first timers in travelling, so we are not sure about what we are doing in the airport. Even though we had encountered many different challenges in the airport, we were able to arrive to our respective destinations. Manila to Bali, Bali to Jakarta, Jakarta to Jambi. That's the route that we took to arrive in our home away from home, Jambi. The travel was exhausting but very fulfilling. We had so many first time experiences that we would not have experienced if we did not join this program. Though those experiences are not part of the expectations of the SEAMEO, but still, we're very thankful that we have experienced those things.

So, if what we have experienced in our first few hours in Indonesia were like this, then I can't just imagine what other experiences are ahead of us. But this will be my mantra for this 30-day program, "savor the moment."

Thank you for reading! Until next time.
